National League weekly recap

Recapping the NL's week ending April 13th

A few things straightened themselves out in the second week of the National League season, but what we basically learned is that no one is running away from the pack.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are the closest thing to a juggernaut on the NL, jumping off to a quick 9-3 start and ending week #2 with a 2.5 game lead over second-place San Diego in the NL West race.

Chicago Cubs hatsIn the Central, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Chicago are all within a game-and-a-half of each other, while Florida holds the only winning record in the NL East, good for a game-and-a-half lead over the Phillies.

Colorado goes to San Diego next week to face the Padres for the first time since the emotional one-game “play-in” game for the postseason last October.

In the Central, Cincinnati visits Chicago as Dusty Baker returns to Wrigley Field, and the Cardinals host Milwaukee in another interesting series.
